Part Two.

So Aaron and I ran out of the airplane as soon as the doors opened, and rushed to a seat near a power outlet.
After all, his laptop was almost dead, and my cell phone was low on batteries. So naturally, we had to charge it (if my cell phone dead, my parents would kill me) |D
We found an outlet, which turned out to only have one of the two plugs working. It was right nearby the NWA checkout desk (the ones that are at every gate).
We found another nearby (which also had only one plug working) so we used those two to charge out laptops and cell phones.
In order to pass the time (as our flight was not till 1130am) I watched some anime, and tried to sleep shortly after. Aaron got some food from Burger King, which was the only place open at the time. We ate that and tried to sleep. I positioned my belongings under me/put my feet on them so I can keep track of them, and tried to sleep on the chair with my legs extended, my luggage keeping my legs up straight. The Tvs were on CNN and were playing all through the night, so I watched some of that too, but when I tried to go to sleep it ended up being quite annoying to hear.
Luckily we took the blankets and pillows from the airplane because the gate was FREEZING. It's like they decided to turn off all the heating at night, so I soon switched to a fettle-like position and covered myself in the blanket, in hopes of retaining some warmth.
It didn't work -too- well, but it did enough to get me through the rest of the night.
Needless to say, I ended up waking at about 7:30am, and as I was gathering my belongings I overheard a lady talking with one of the NWA employees at the checkout desk. She asked the lady, 'Do you know the status of the flight going to Honolulu? It's supposed to leave today at 11:30am.' and the employee replies, 'Oh yea, that flight got cancelled.'
....
The lady went ballistic. XD
She started (semi)yelling at the employee saying things like, 'WHAT? And you didn't think of telling us this earlier? When did they find out it was cancelled?' in which the employee replied, 'Oh, earlier today.'
'...And when were you planning to tell us? You could have told us as soon as you found out, and we could have had time to find alternate flights to get on.'
etc. etc.
Eventually the employee told her to call a number (customer service) and so I went up there to get a number, too.

So we wait in a plane for over 4 hours, only for it to be delayed, spend the night at the airport then find out later that the flight got canceled. And now we have to call customer service to find another flight.
...And I thought the bus ride to the airport would be the hardest and most stressful thing about getting home.

Read it all.
If you didn't know, the Northwest is going through one of the worst snow storms in decades.
I just had to have plans to fly out just when the storm hit...

So I finished finals on Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday to cruise till I left on Saturday for home!
All went well, and on Saturday, Aaron and I took a bus to the airport. I thought this would be the most troublesome part of the whole trip, as we had to transfer buses and such.
Luckily the bus ride went smoothly, and we arrived at the airport a few hours early.
We go through security and check-in fine, and head to our gate. We grab some food to tide us over until dinner, and soon we board. I find my seat, which is nicely situated between two Punahou graduates. (What are the odds of that? :P)
As everyone was getting seated, the pilot comes on the intercom and informs us that the plane needs to be de-iced, so the plane doesn't get weighed down by the falling snow. He then says that the a/c will be shut down during the time so the solution doesn't get into the vents, although some may still seep in. "But don't worry!" He said, "The fumes are non-toxic, and smell like maple syrup on pancakes."
Really? Does it now?
So they de-ice the plane, and it proceeds out toward the runway. During this time, I fall asleep, and when I wake up the plane is still moving. I assumed it was still moving toward the runway, but Aaron tells me that we are heading back toward the gate.
WHAT? GATE!? WHY??
Apparently there were other airplanes taking off before us, and we had to wait for them to take off. They took so long that by the time our turn came around, we needed another layer of de-icing solution on the plane, so we headed back to the gate to get another layer sprayed on.
But the de-icing trucks also had a waiting line of airplanes. There were airplanes getting de-iced before ours, so we had to wait.
We had to wait over four hours.
OVER FOUR HOURS.
I sat on that seat for over four hours straight. That wouldn't be too bad if I was in that seat on a flight heading to Honolulu. But no, I was sitting on that seat on a plane that wasn't moving, on the gound, at SeaTac Airport. Mind you, it takes about 5 hours to get from SeaTac to Honolulu. I was on that plane for almost as long as our flight would have been, but we didn't go anywhere.
So about the fourth hour in, a flight attendent comes on the intercom and says, "I know some of you have been sitting for quite awhile," (Nooo really?) "so we will open the door for a second and people can leave the aircraft." At this point people were considering leaving to walk around a bit, or grab food. "BUT," she says, "if we get the good to go from the tower, we will close the gates whether or not you are back, and we will leave you." HAHA. At this point the passengers laughed, amused at the fact that a person would exit the airplane, only to turn around a second later and potentially see the plane flying away.
Needless to say, no one wanted to risk it and leave, so everyone just stayed on the plane.
We figured that we've been waiting for over four hours, we must be going somewhere soon, because they would never make us sit around for four hours if progress wouldn't be made...
...sadly, we were wrong. Shortly after the flight attendent's announcement, the pilot came on the intercom. He announced that the de-icing trucks were here (there was much rejoycing) although since it took so long (over four hours...) for the trucks to get here, the weather conditions worsened, and made it unable for the plane to take off safely.
SO the flight was delayed till tomorrow at 11:30a.
I figured that spending one night sleeping at the airport won't be too bad. I mean, Tom Hank's character in The Terminal did it for months, so I can probably do it for a night.
Sadly, I'm not as amazing as Tom Hanks.
He makes things look so much more fun and easy than they actually are...

Can Cali Has Art Tablet?

I've been wanting an art tablet for oh, 4+ years now...I'm trying to complete my Code Geass fanart book, but I wanted to make the cover on Photoshop (for a more cleaner feel, y'know?) but to do that I either need to take a loong time tracing & coloring using my crappy-ass mouse, or buy a tablet...or pay someone off to do it for me. >__>

SO! Black Friday is coming up. Hopefully somewhere has an art tablet on sale, but if not...well, I don't know. XD I'll figure it out when if it comes to that. : P

Are there any art tablets that are complete crap, that I should never buy? For reference sake... I'd rather wait to buy a good one than to rush and buy a shitty one. : |

Some people are so ignorant.

Seriously, I cannot believe some of these people are going to vote for Obama or McCain without a solid reason as to why. If you are going to vote for one party without a reason as to why, then I don't think you should vote at all.
And reasoning like, 'A president from Hawaii doesn't know anything' or 'A VP from Alaska wouldn't know anything about the US' are not valid reasons. It just makes you look like an idiot.

How hard is it to read articles, or watch a bit of the two Conventions and decide. Hell, wait till McCain and Obama broadcast their debate, and decide on that. There each canidate will lay out what they're for/against, and you can easily decide based on that.

DO NOT jump on a bandwagon and vote for someone based on the general stereotypes of Democrats/Republicans, or on their looks, where they're from, etc.

Vote on someone based on what they will bring to the people, and who you think will be best for the US. Vote for the canidate whose ideas speak to you.

short one shot fic regarding Shirley and Lelouch's relationship.

   Shirley…
    Lelouch was still sitting, clutching onto Shirley Fenette’s body, her spirit already gone and faded from his world. He didn’t know how long he’d been crying, but he didn’t care. He was overflowing with emotions, so full of regret, despair, and yearning.
    He yearned for her touch, her voice. He will never admit it out loud, but Shirley was a person of great importance in his life.
    She was one of the only people to see Lelouch as the young man that she always knew. She was still able to see the “old” Lelouch, even after knowing about his alter-ego Zero, and all the things he had done under his alias. She did not see Lelouch as a backstabber, as a betrayer, a leader, or a god. She saw Lelouch as Lelouch, and she loved him for that.
    Lelouch killed her father. He erased her memories. He made her live a lie for a year. Shirley knew all this, and yet she still loved him.

    She loved me.
    Lelouch was overwhelmed with despondency, as he thought about her confession to him in the last moments of her life. She did nothing wrong, all she did was love him unconditionally. Loved a man who killed hundreds, tortured many, and manipulated even more.
    And yet, this man is the one still alive, who clutched onto this love struck girl as she bled for the love of the man.
    Why Shirley? She did nothing. She was not supposed to die. Not here, not now.
    And as much as this man wished, as much as he cried, he wasn’t able to revive the girl. He held a high status and great power, but nothing could bring the girl back to him.
    Everything that she did was out of love. This realization made Lelouch’s heart ache even more, and he could not help but cry outwardly in agony. She wanted to be next to him, through the good and the bad. He was alone amongst his army of Knights, and she knew this. She did not want him to go through all of this pain alone; this pain that was slowly tearing him apart. She wanted to be by his side, so he would have someone there with him at the end.
    She wanted to be the one truthful thing to me...the only truthful thing.
    Her words repeated inside Lelouch’s mind as he hugged Shirley’s body closer to him. He knew she was the only truthful person to him, and Lelouch knew that his trust died along with her.

    The great king hunched lower to his queen, sobbing uncontrollably. A picture no commoner or Knight would ever see, an image of their king in such a helpless and defenseless state.
    The sun faded behind a smoky, foggy sky, opening up for the night; the same way the light dimmed in the king’s heart that day.
    For she represented all that was good, pure and light in his life. And with her gone, all that was left in his fading heart was revenge.

    A fading heart, but still a heart. -
